The little bird
"The little bird" (the picture is to be rotated 90 degrees left, perhaps you could rotate your head until I find a new picture that display it the proper way, or you could check out my blog or my page at Saatchi online). siriskogstadberntsen.blogspot.com
The little bird is a mixed media work on plate. I have used acrylic paint, charcoal and crayons. There are also three bits of linen material. It has a back frame in wood, 4.7cm deep, which is glued onto the backside of the plate and can be removed with a little power if it is too deep when framing the artwork. The plate itself is 0.7cm deep. The sea in the picture is perhaps a nuance more even and nuance little darker in colour than the photo exhibits.

Perhaps I am dreaming, painting
"Perhaps I am dreaming"
is a visual vision of a state when a person is unconscious or not connected directly to the reality around her or himself, like in sleep or coma or when a person is experiencing an attack. It is an intriguing and mysterious riddle of the human psychology that we know so little about. Perhaps I am dreaming is painted with acrylic paint on linen canvas.

Memories, painting
“Memories” is a painting of a man and a woman. They are placed together in a well-furnished room, a living room or a bedroom. Their eyes are closed, like they are thinking or experiencing emotions. The painting reflects on our presence, the two worlds we live in at the same time; our inner world, with our thoughts, feelings and memories, and the outer world, the physical rooms we move within.

I
Title: I
Format: 65x54cm
Technique: Acrylic and oil on board.
Production year: 2014
Almost everyone goes through an introspective state or phase where they investigate themselves more thoroughly. As a phase it will lead to understanding of ones nature or personality, and qualities as an individual, compared to others, but the phase also means that one has to be alone by oneself, loneliness this way can be a mixed experience. Sometimes it is a gift, something we long for, other times we feel alone, like we have been forgotten, or that nobody really cares, and loneliness and isolation can be unpleasant consequences of this process, when we feel that we are not taken care of or loved by anyone. Love always.
Abstract painting: break of day
"Break of day"
is an abstract painting in the format 69x68cm. It is painted with acrylic paint on a mdf.plate, I have also used different kinds of crayons.

Your loveliness
Title: "Your loveliness"
Production year: 2012/15
Technique: Mixed media on board
Format.: 80x60cm
Your loveliness is made with mixed medias on a plate. I have used acrylic paint, as well as different kinds of crayons, charcoals and pastels. I have also used a knife. ”Your loveliness” is an abstract painting, modern in form with rough linework, contrast and breaks in a balanced-noisy expression. It is possible to display the image several ways. A back frame can be made especially for the painting.
My inspiration is the beauty of the people one loves, a beauty they manage to keep despite of all the struggles they have to fight in their life.

Painting: autumn leaves
"Autumn leaves"
From the day I can remember, the autumn has always been a particularly melancholic transitional period. With its winds and the coldness it changes the happy and pleasent landscape of summer entirely, than it just disappears and suddenly there is the winter. It has been difficult for me to capture this particular period or state of mind. This small painting is so far the closest I have come. Inspiration to make this image came after I have viewed works by the excellent russian artist Vladimir Paroshin, in particular his painting "The apple tree". The painting is painted with acrylic paint on a block of small kapaplates that I have glued together, on top of each other. It has a small metallarrangement for hanging. The format is 20-20.5cm in width (lower part broadest)/34.9cm length/3.2cm deep.

Painting: Fezzes are cool
”Fezzes are cool” 24x33x2.5cm
is an acrylic painting of a man with his nice fez.
The image is an acknowledgement of the times when we were nice hats proudly.
The artwork has a wooden frame glued onto the backside of the paintingplate, giving
the artwork a depth of 2.5cm. The sides of the frame are painted black. The
photo is smaller than the original painting. There is perhaps 1.5 cm on the
right side and one centimeter on the left side, all black space, that is not
showing, there is perhaps also one centimeter of upper black space not showing
on the photo.
