"Building a home"
is a mixed media work on plate, 54x65 cm. The background is made using water colour that has been worked with so long that it has become 'etched' into the plate. The environment, the house, the tops of the trees and the people in the painting are created with oilcrayons and oil, which makes the painting into a 'living' material. It has a wood frame glued onto the back, 2.1 cm deep, making the depth 2.5cm with the plate. The sides of the frame are painted white.
