The painting shows a woman in a classical art pose, (could be recognized as a part of the grande odalisque by Ingres) The title, «Subjectification», refers to the construction of the individual subject. Subjectification can be said to precede the subject in the same way as the process of individuation precedes the creation of the individual. New references, constructed by a process where the individual finds herself at the centre of the world, changes the way we pose and choose to portray others. The woman portrayed becomes subjectified, rather than objectified, as traditionally was in this classical work. Paradoxically, this process of subjectification of the motive (the woman) happens without giving her any particular detailing. The painting can also be enjoyed just for the visual content and the colors. It can be cropped to suit a frame, (or a passepartou), it is uneven in relation to the paper, particularly on the one side. The left side has app. 0.6 to 2cm of the white paper showing, the right side has app.3.5cm.The top and the bottom have from 12 to13 cm of white paper showing. It will be signed.
