Title: Madam Gonse eating chocolate
Format: 58.7x38.7x1.7cm
Technique: Collage/acrylic
Production year: 2016
This artwork is inspired by the famous portrait of Madam Gonse by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres (1852). I have used different kinds of paper to cover up a cork board, one of the pieces has visible texture. The portrait is made in a rough style and can perhaps be considered a conceptual artwork. It belongs to a modern expressionistic tradition. A wood frame is fixed to the board, it is painted white. The artwork has a metal string on the backside and is ready for display. It was difficult to get the right color distribution, the frame is more white than beige. It is for sale at Saatchi online gallery.
