mixed media: first time mother (madonna)

"First time mother"
is a mixed media work on paper. I have printed the background by hand in a printing press, using a plate for the texture and colour as well as a drypoint needle, later the woman and the child have been handcoloured.

When I made this small acrylic painting of a father and a child I was thinking about how important the role of the father is in a child's life, presenting a feeling of security, of being cared for and the supportive character of the father. The painting is made on a 'photocanvas', it is app. 23x27cm, the sides are a bit unevenly cut, but it would be fine for a cutting of 22x27cm. "Reflection"
I have started the work on a series of nude drawings.  I have used charcoal on 'greypaper'. "Reflection" is a cropped image of a woman, standing there, looking onto something, or perhaps thinking about something. It is titled 'Reflection', because it looks like she is about to decide on something important for her or is thinking about something important for her. The mood is calm, reflected. The original drawing is larger than the cropped image, you can there also see her face and legs. I will put it out for sale this autumn.

"pattern in green" is a small printmaking work. I have used some textile and a piece of wallpaper. It has a passepartpou.

Small painting: the judgement

Pilatus asked
"What am I to do about Jesus?"
"Crucify him", the crowd shouted.
"Why? What crimes has he committed?"
But the crowd just shouted even more loud
'Crucify him".

"The judgement" is a small mixed media painting on plate. It is app. 20.5x25.5cm. The Jesus figure is inspired by one of Gauguin's masterpieces, the Yellow Christ, but the people surrounding him here is from our time.
