Siblings

Title: Siblings
Format: Frame 65x55x3.5cm Plate 54x39cm
Technique: Acrylic on old painting plate
Production year: 2016
The artwork belongs to an abstract expressionistic tradition. I have used grey, black and white as well as gold. There is a person hidden in the painting, with traces of red, black and natural skin tones.
The frame is white on the sides, the front is painted roughly with gold and comes out more light and less contrasted in the original. The original is a little lighter on the gold and the grey parts, creating a stronger contrast towards the black. The composition is inspired by the great abstract painter Deborah Carr.

Sunset

Title: Sunset
Format: app. 79/80x124 cm
Production year: 2015
Technique: Acrylic and charcoal on paper
The painting shows a man and a woman. The man is naked, standing in the forefront of the picture. He has a transparent sash or some kind of fabric in his hands. A woman is seated in the background of the living room. She has a dog in her lap. There are flowers in a vase and a view, or a painting, of a sunset. The artwork belongs to a modern expressionistic tradition. It carries on the heritage of pop art and surrealism.

The paper/artwork can be cropped into a suitable size. It is a little uneven. 79-80 cm vertical and app. 124 cm horisontal. There are two pieces of paper creating texture on the paper. It could be mounted on a cardboard or some other kind of board before framed. There is also the possibility of pressing the paper flat and using particular metalclips or magnets for hanging it directly onto the wall.

You owe me a chicken

Title: You owe me a chicken
Format: 125x117cm (app.)
Technique: Acrylic on paper
Production year: 2015
The artwork is made with acrylic paint on white paper. It belongs to an expressionistic tradition. The painting shows two persons. One of them seems to be a queen or some sort of noblesse or otherwise a person of high statue on relation to the other person. She is sitting on her crown chair well dressed. The position of her legs shows a masculine pose or a power pose. Her face reflects focus and determination. The other person seems to be either bowing for her or allowed to be seated in her presence.
The painting is a bit lighter in the yellow parts, more towards white yellow. The photograph shows some of the clips I used when it was documented. The metal clips are not part of the artwork. The painting/paper can be cropped into a suitable size. The size is approximate, the paper is a little uneven.

The promise

Title: The promise
Format: Image size 69.9x52.5 Paper size app. 108x77cm
Technique: DGA on paper
Production year: 2011
This artwork is made using digital tools. It portrays three human(like) figures, their heads and necks. They are equally dressed in the same blue-green jumpers, they carry the same hairstyle and their hair is the same color Their faces look alike, but are slightly different. They are portrayed against a vibrant pinkish background, a light of revelation. Together they form a line. They all seem to be within the same state of mind or walking towards a same goal or purpose. Behind the third person, one can see a glimpse of a fourth person that seems to break up the symmetry of the line. The artwork is expressionistic, it may be said to belong to a modern tradition as it points forwards. It carries on the heritage of pop art as well as surrealism.

The original artwork is a little darker in the tone of the figures and the clothing perhaps more greenish-blue, creating a more delicate vibrant contrast towards the background. The original is also more delicate than the photo when it comes to the bridges and the spread of colour. The paper is all white, not greyish like the photo. The image on main display is a little cropped, perhaps into 105x75 or the like. The artwork is printed on quality art paper. This is an open edition, but I have only made one print. The paper can be cropped into proper or suitable size. These images, that I made in 2011, is part of a series of DGAs. I have not taken them up before now. If there would be an interest for the expression, I would try to go deeper into the material that I have made and print also some of the other images.
