When Isabel falls asleep

Title: When Isabel falls asleep
Format: 80x60
Production year:2014/15
Technique: Acrylic on board
Juliette (a letter to mankind) is an acrylic painting on a board. I have portrayed a human figure, smiling, and inhabiting a sort of calmness despite of everything that is happening around her. The difficulties and the hardship of human kind is communicated using a rough painting style.

Mostly void

Title: Mostly void
Technique: Paper, cardboard, plaster, acrylic paint
Format: 45x13x17cm
Production year: 2011
The sculpture "Mostly void" is made with paper, tape and layers of plaster. It is painted white with acrylic paint. The sculpture is 25 cm long from head to toe, approximately 17 cm width, and 13 cm high, when layed down. It can be hung from the ceiling, using some sort of thread. I would recommend transparent thread, like fishing thread, it would probably make an interesting display, like it is floating around. It is possible to vary the position of the sculpture, according to where you place the thread. I have used a white thread that I have put around the sculptures' waist. The sculpture can also be displayed laying down in different postures, when laying down on the side it seems as it is hitting the ground, with the head and the arm, like in a fall. It can also sit, in a shelf or at a table or be turned up side down. There are lots of variations. It is possible to build a white box for it to lay upon. I will add the white thread I have been using for it and a small screw with an eye, which can be used as a hanging arrangement.
I have tried to portray a sort of physical vulnerability, the body is fragile, if we fall to hard on to something concrete, we get damage, sometimes such falls can turn your life around. By hanging it from the ceiling, in a sort of space, I try to lift the body, or the human out of the everyday life on the ground.

The sculpture can be bought either at Saatchi Online Gallery or by contacting me,

All the pain and the sorrow

Title: All the pain and the sorrow
Format: 70x50
Production year: 2014/15
"All the pain and the suffering" is a mixed media work on paper.
I have used charcoal, acrylic and oil paint to portrait a person, a man,
that seems to be enduring pain and suffering. Life brings a lot of agony and hurt,
and one has to be strong to endure and stay true. Not everyone has strength enough to carry the pain.

Journey

Title: Journey
Format: 65x54cm
Technique: mixed media on board
Production year: 2006/15
The painting displays an abstract landscape in yellow, red and orange, almost gold. The colors are vibrant and at the same time toned down, there are several lines an shapes in the motive creating figures, items and stories for the viewer. The painting communicates an inner horizon and invites to personal reflection. It was made on a board in Lofoten, Norway, in 2006, I finished it recently in 2015, laying a white border onto it, shaping the story. I have used different mediums, watercolor that has been worked with so long that it has been 'etched' into the plate, then some acrylic and oil. I used a bamboo pen working on the surface of the first layer leaving lines, other tools in combination with water have come to use to create the painted 'texture' that constitutes the motive in the painting. I will make a back frame for it, if wished for, with painted sides, so that it can be hung on to the wall as it is.

Everyone is sad besides me

Title: Everyone is sad besides me
Format: 59.9x41.7cm
Production year: 2015
Technique: oil and acrylic and other
Everyone is sad besides me is an abstract painting, in a modern tradition. It portrays the strange feeling of being happy when people around you are sad or miserable, inside you are bubbling over with life and energy which you would like to use. Still you have to take care of the sad ones and try to help them as best as you can.

Everyone is sad besides me is an abstract painting, in a modern tradition. It portrays the strange feeling of being happy when people around you are sad or miserable, inside you have a lot of life and energy which you would like to unfold. Still you have to take care of the sad ones and help them as best as you can.

The painting is made in black, grey, pink, shades of blue, red and lilac. I have covered the mdf-board with linen, leaving a highly textured surface of linen patterns and also threads. The dark areas bring forward the light in the shapes and the surroundings, creating the intense variations. The format is approximate. There are a few millimeters difference on height and width. I can make a back frame for it, so that it can be hung onto the wall as it is. However, the painting would probably display very nicely with a silver frame. The painting can be displayed in several ways.

When we wake up

Title: When we wake up
Format: 60x60x4cm
Technique: Acrylic and other on canvas
Production year: 2015
When we wake up is made with acrylic paint on canvas.
There are two linen bits incorporated to the painting,
creating another layer and another dimension. I am trying to portray
the silent awakening, when we enter into a new day. It is also a portrait of new beginnings
or an awakening, whereafter we see or understand something differently.

The poets bird

Title: The poets bird
Format: 54x65cm
Production year: 2015
Technique: Oil, acrylic and other on board
Inspiration sometimes arrive, symbolically, as a bird.
The poet has to create in a different expression compared to many others and find inspiration in untraditional ways. This painting tries to capture this type of inspiration, or the process, when
the strange and unknown bird has arrived.
