The painting belongs to an abstract tradition. The composition consists of clearly defined areas, shaped into different rather static forms using various kinds of blue, and a more dynamic or organic white field. Inside the one blue field a lot of stories evolve. The title Titanic, gives extra tension to the relations between the static forms. Oil paint is dominant medium. It has a field of watercolor that has been worked with for very long, so that it has become almost 'etched' into the plate. The painting can be displayed from other sides. A back frame in wood, app.2.5cm deep, can be made for it. It would probably look nice in a white frame.
