is a mixed media work on paper. I used a drypoint needle to create the lines and printmaking ink in the background. It was handprinted in a printing press. I coloured the figures with acrylic and gouache paint. The original has less contrast in colour on the yellow background and on the red line on the small figure. The dimensions are app. 19x14cm. I finished this painting earlier this year. It is build up through several layers of acrylic and water colour paint, paint has also been removed creating a particular 'texture' in the image. The human figure is made with charcoal drawing. The dimensions are 54x65cmx0.4cm (depth). The image can be viewed more closely at my homepage. The price is 2200 NOK, 400 USD or 375 Euro. The original comes out a little bit more dark blue in the blue parts.

Abstract painting: "Together", for sale

"Together"
This abstract painting is done with a mix of water colour and acrylic medium. I made the initial image in 2006, and finished it today. It is painted on a plate. Layers of paint are worked with, sometimes removed, all the way down to an older level of paint. It gives a raw and texture-like finish. I have glued the backside of the plate onto an untreated wood frame. This frame can be kept or removed. The dimensions are 54x65cm. The price is 350 USD/EURO or 2200 NOK.

Mixed media: Crown of thorns

"Crown of thorns"
I made this image using printmaking. First a drawing was scanned and worked with at the computer. The photocopy of the image is then used, through a binding process with gummi arabicum and printing ink the image is transferred to paper, using a handprinting press. Lastly, the image is handcoloured.  There is only one image so far. The dimensions are 15x19cm. The price is 700NOK or 125USD/EURO. Passepartou in the dimension 20x30cm or 30x3cm is included if wanted.

Printmaking/collagraphy: All dressed up

"All dressed up"
A collagraphy is a printmaking process in which materials are applied in the printing process. I have used three or four layers of printing, involving waterbased printingcolours and fabrics, creating texture (some of the pieces remain as part of the artwork). The image is handprinted in press. The dimensions are approximately 26.7x39cm. The price is 250USD. I will put it out on my homepage and at Saatchi online gallery. It can be viewed more carefully in either of the two places. The original will come out a little bit brighter on the white and a little bit darker on the the darkest parts.

Digital art on artpaper: Going through the dark

This image is made on the computer. A drawing or sketch is scanned, then painted on using digital pencils and brushes. The artwork is printed onto quality art paper in a high quality printing press.
The dimensions on the image are 30x42.3 cm. A passepartou is made, adjusted to the size of the image, the passepartou has the dimension 61.5x47.6 cm. The artwork is for sale, with our without the passepartou. It is the first print I have made of this image. The price is 1000 NOK/175USD/175Euro, included shipment.

This image is made through printmaking of drawing. The drawing is manipulated with effects in computersoftware, then the photocopy is transferred through a bindingprocess to paper, the print is made by hand. Later it has been handcolored with acrylic paint. The dimensions are 21.4/29.3cm. The price is 1000NOK/200USD/200Euro, included shipment.

Angel at Saatchi sold

I painted this image on a mdf.plate using acrylic paint earlier this year. The dimensions are 20x29.5 cm. It is named 'Journey'. The artwork was recently sold at Saatchi Online gallery.

drawing: the madonna

I made this drawing with pencil today. It is an image of Leonardo da Vinci's Madonna.
Leonardo da Vinci lived in the age of 1452-1519, his life is said to be synchronous with the high renaissance; he was a perfect example of the Renaissance man, excelling in an extraordinary diversity of disciplines, as an architect, sculptor, military engineer and inventor as well as a painter. He produced on of the greatest masterpieces of all, Mona Lisa, he was also on of the first Italian artists to employ landscape as an extension of the subject rather than merely to fill the background. The original is made with silver (crayon?) One of the oldest drawing tools. A piece of silver is drawn over the surface on a special paper, it leaves a thin layer of silver that darkens with time.
